The Comparison of Code-Based and Empirical Seismic Fragility Curves of Steel and RC Buildings

چکیده

Seismic codes were developed to reduce the structural vulnerability and risk associated with earthquakes in earthquake-prone regions of world. The effectiveness code preventing damage is dependent on performance level defined construction technology employed. seismic fragility curves for two recent versions Iran are determined by using hybrid method. probability levels visualized these curves. To develop curves, only assumptions taken into account. These compared empirical devastating earthquake Iran. results indicate that, despite a similar different seismic-resistant systems, steel-braced frames pose greater collapse. Concerning damage, steel RC moment-resisting have shown higher than expected from code.
